Ace Sports Journalist Saddick Adams AKA “Sports Obama” has warned the youth to desist from taking Tafrodol “red” due to it adverse effect on health.
Saddick Adams who is now the morning show host on Angel FM (Accra) made the bold call this morning. He called on other stakeholders to help curb the new trend.
“What at all are the youth especially students in search of, is it sexual libido or premature ejaculation? JHS or SHS student has no business with such stuffs. I will plead with the National Commission of Civic Education (NCCE) and Ghana police service to act swiftly to nip the new trend in the bud”
The use of the drug has caught wildfire among the youth of Ghana. Several reports indicate the youth are consuming 2,250 milligrams of Tafradol a day.
According to Saddick Adams continuous use of the drug within the span of three days culminates in muting the senses of an individual. This often leaves the individual in a sleep like state, causing them to stay at a spot for close to three hours.
Masons, workers at the port, construction sites and the youth have been penciled down as high consumers of the drug. “Red” which is also known as “225” is the new drug menace fighting the youth. The new trend has taken over tramadol use among the youth.
According to BBC expose, the Indian company producing the banned drug has been apprehended, upon interrogation, the company revealed most of their consignment are shipped to three West African countries notably, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire and Nigeria.
The drug is reported to be more prevalent in the northern part of Ghana. Saddick Adams is admonishing the youth to desist from using the drug.
