Asante Kotoko returned to winning ways on match week 25 of the Ghana premier league with a 1-0 win over Basake Holy Stars at the Babayara Sports Stadium.
Samuel Tenedu’s delected effort in the 14th minute was enough to secure three points for a Kotoko side who were dominated possession. The Porcupine Warriors are now one point clear at the summit, benefiting from Bibiani Gold Stars’ failure to win at home against Hearts of Oak.
Kwame Poku nearly made it two with powerful shot, but his effort missed the goal by some inches. Substitute, Emmanuel Antwi who nearly had an assist to his name saw his effort come off the goal post in the dying embers of the game.
Kotoko will turn their attention to their next home fixture against Berekum Chelsea on match week 26 of the 2024/2025 Ghana premier league season.
