Nations FC’s Razak Simpson scored a screamer against Accra Hearts of Oak on match week 21 of the 2024/2025 Ghana premier league. Hearts were hoping to end their winless run, but Simpson’s strike proved to be decider after 90 minutes of football action.

Hearts of Oak dominated possession at the Tuba Astro Turf but the lack of proficiency in front of goal kept the scores barren. They controlled 48% of the ball but found it difficult to create clear-cut chances. Nations FC, with 52% possession, were more clinical and looked threatening on the counterattack.

Nations FC broke the deadlock in the 57th minute thanks to Black Stars center back Razak Simpson who rifled in a volley from a long way out. Hearts of Oak pushed for the equalizer with superb attacking play however their inability to put the ball at the back of the net summed up their performance.

The defeat extends Hearts of Oak’s winless run to four matches, putting coach Aboubakar Ouattara under increased pressure. The result also sees them fall further behind league leaders Asante Kotoko, who now hold an eight-point advantage. Meanwhile, Nations FC’s victory moves them back into the top four as they continue their strong campaign.

Razak Simpson was named most valuable player of the match.
