Former Black Stars midfielder Michael Essien insist Thomas Partey is a better footballer between himself and the Arsenal midfielder.
Essien’s take appears to have settled the long standing debate however some section of Ghanaians highly disagree with the former Lyon enforcer who disclosed it during an interview with Sporty FM (Accra).
“Between myself and Thomas Partey in prime, I don’t think I will pick myself. I will go for Partey. He is a fantastic midfielder, you know”
Both Essien and Partey have similarities in terms of their position and experience at club level but there is also a sharp contrast in playing career. Whiles Essien settled for Chelsea in London, Partey settled for rivals Arsenal. In Spain Essien had stints with Real Madrid whiles Partey featured for rivals Athletico Madrid.
