Medeama SC have appointed Ibrahim Tanko as their new head coach. The former Black Stars player joins the club on a two and half year deal.

The club took to social media to confirm the arrival of their new coach. The Uefa license A holder is expected to transform the fortunes of the Tarkwa based club.

Medeama Sporting Club is pleased to confirm the appointment of Coach Ibrahim Tanko two-and- half year contract. The UEFA license A holder has completed formalities and replaces technical director Augustine Evans Adotey, who reverts to his original role,” a club statement read on Wednesday.

“The former Ghana International is one of the most exciting coaches and brings wealth of experience, standards of excellence, leadership qualities and character to the club. Nicknamed the ‘Bullet’, Tanko joins the Mauve and Yellow after leaving Premier League side Accra Lions where he served as a coach and technical advisor.

“The former Borussia Dortmund star is one of the experienced trainers in the country having worked in Japan’s J League and the Bundesliga. He was also an assistant coach of Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions as well as Ghana’s Black Meteors and Black Galaxies.”

The former Accra Lions head coach will officially start work on Thursday.
