Ghana football has entered a new era with a revamped Black Stars technical team, and former Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) chairman Kudjoe Fianoo has thrown his support behind the new leadership.
Former Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) Chairman, Kudjoe Fianoo is solidly hoping for the best for the new Black Stars technical team.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has decided to reconstitute the technical team of the Black Stars after assessing the performance of the team in last year’s AFCON qualifiers. The restructuring sees German tactician Winfried Anton Schafer stepping in as Technical Advisor, working alongside Head Coach Otto Addo. Desmond Ofei joins as Assistant Coach, with Belgian analyst Gregory De Grauwe leading the Video Analysis Unit. Psychological support will come from Kris Perquy, while Issah Amadou and Abdul Rahman Alhassan take charge as Equipment Officers.
Fianoo, acknowledging the changes, expressed hope that the appointments will yield results for Ghanaian football.
“If we have given a job to a group of people and they say this is the way to go I will say who am I. We can only say that Ghana football that is a bad place it will lift the Black Stars and is it only the black stars that are not doing well. What impact is this going have on the local scene because if we what to improve the football we should everywhere not only the Black Stars that didn’t qualify for Afcon,” he told Peace FM.
“The CHAN team also did not qualify so how are we going to handle the new technical direction and those other national teams. So I have seen it I know that we have those who are the custodians of our football the ExCo and its committees maybe they think this is best for Ghana football.
