Black Satellites face Zambia in crucial pre-tournament friendly ahead of U-20 AFCON

The Black Satellites are up against Zambia in a friendly match ahead of the 2025 Under-20 African Cup of Nations scheduled to take place Egypt.

After two intensive days of training in the Egyptian capital, Coach Desmond Offei and his technical team will be using this encounter to fine-tune their strategies and assess the squad’s readiness for the tournament.

The match provides an opportunity for Coach Desmond Offei to put his tactics and drills to test. Zambia presents a tough test, coached by Boyd Mulwanda, Zambia arrives with a well-balanced squad and a hunger to make an impact in Group A, which also features Egypt, South Africa, Sierra Leone, and Tanzania.

The Black Satellites last won the African Under-20 Nations Cup in 2020. Having missed out on the competition in recent times the team is eager to rediscover their form and reposition Ghana as force in juvenile football on the African continent. They still remain the only African country to win the Under-20 World Cup.

For Ghana, the friendly will serve as a dress rehearsal ahead of their opening Group C clash against DR Congo on May 2.
