BLACK QUEENS SET TO PLAY TWO FRIENDLIES AHEAD OF 2025 AFCON

Communication Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum has hinted that the Black Queens will be involved in friendlies next month as part of their preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Ghana’s senior women’s national team has booked a place for the tournament which is scheduled to be hosted in Morocco later this year.

Speaking in an interview with Asempa FM, Asante Twum confirmed that the Queens will play friendly games to assess their readiness ahead of the tournament.

Next month, Black Queens will be engaged in friendly games as part of their preparations for the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON),” he said.

Meanwhile, the Ghana FA has announced the appointment of Kim Lars Björkegren as the new head coach of Black Queens following the exit of Nora Hauptle.

Björkegren has signed a two-year deal and he is expected to be unveiled next month.
