Asante Kotoko have parted ways with Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum following a run of poor results in the Ghana Premier League.

Defeat to Nations FC appears to be the final straw which broke the camel’s back. At Abrankese, Kotoko were hoping to bounce back after a run of 3 games without a win. Nafiu Sulemana and Emmanuel Annor scored in both halves to extend Kotoko’s winless run.

Despite the recent losses, Ogum’s legacy is still intact. He guided Kotoko to a traditional league win in the 2021/22 season during his first tenure – a season that brought back memories of the club’s golden years and instilled hope in the fans for a sustainable future.

His return in 2024 was also welcomed with a lot of anticipation, but trouble on and off the pitch ensured the team never reached those same levels again.

In 28 league games this season, Kotoko had 13 wins, 8 draws, and 7 defeats. Inconsistency had eventually paid its price, and the Interim Management Committee (IMC) felt a change was needed to turn around the fortunes of the club in the season.
