Kumasi Asante Kotoko salvaged a point against an impressive Bechem United side at the Babayara Sports Stadium on match week 27 of the 2024/2025 Ghana premier league.

Coach Ogum’s side were looking to further their points tally on the summit of the league table but Bechem United had other plans.

Dalvin Yeboah broke the deadlock in the 69th minute through a flick via a corner kick. The home crowed spurred the league leaders on as they pushed for the equalizer. Bechem United’s ability to neutralize Kotoko resulted in nervy moment.

Kotoko were awarded a penalty and Albert Amoah scored from the spot. The likes of Wisdom Bassey, Patrick Asiedu and Daniel Adjetey kept the flanks busy with superb incursions.

The result extends Kotoko’s unbeaten run to seven matches, but the mood at full-time was far from celebratory. Players and head coach Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum were visibly frustrated, knowing they had let an opportunity slip in front of their home crowd. A win would have kept them clear of GoldStars, who edged Young Apostles 1-0 in Bibiani to go level on points.

Bibiani Gold Stars are on the level of points with Kotoko following their win over Young Apostles. Kotoko will have to prep seriously for their mid-week clash against Accra Lions.
