Real Madrid faces a daunting task as they look forward to overturning a 3-0 defeat in the return leg against Arsenal on Wednesday. With Real having their backs against the wall, fans are expecting Carlo Ancelotti’s side to stage a comeback against all odds.
Arsenal remains Real Madrid’s boggy side in the history of the champions league. In three meetings, Madrid is yet to overcome Arsenal. Carlo Ancelotti believes the tie won’t come easy.
“I am not sure if we will change the result, what I am sure of is that we will give our all”
Though the task remains difficult Real Madrid are poised to make history tomorrow. Jude Bellingham admits it is a nice feeling to hear people say that Real Madrid can make it happen though it comes with pressure.
Real Madrid have lost by three or more goals in the first leg of a European tie on five previous occasions. The only time they came from behind to progress was in the 1975/76 European Cup when they recovered from a 4-1 defeat by Derby County in the last 16 to win 5-1 at home and go through 6-5 on aggregate.
