ZAMBIA UNVEILS NORA HÄUPTLE AS NEW HEAD COACH OF THE COPPER QUEENS

Zambia have officially unveiled Nora Häuptle as the new head coach of the Copper Queens. The former Black Queens will continue her coaching career with Zambia for the next two years.

Nora opted not to renew her contract with Ghana despite persistent effort from the Ghana Football Association (GFA). Reports indicate the astute tactician was not happy with the proposal from the GFA. Also the inability of the Black Queens to intensify preparation for the Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) appeared to have been the final straw.

Nora’s immediate task will be the upcoming WAFCON, where Zambia will be expected to achieve greater results. She takes over from Bruce Mwape.

Following her departure from the Ghana national team, the Ghana Football Association brought in Kim Lars Bjorkegren to take over her role.
