Accra Hearts of Oak recorded a narrow 1-0 victory over Legon Cities at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on match week 16 of the 2024/2025 Ghana Premier League season.

Legon Cities took the game to Hearts of Oak but their inability to finish was the decisive factor in the first half. It kept the score barren. Back from recess, Ahmed Ramzy Yussif weaved his way through the defense of Legon Cities before drilling a shot into the far right corner to register the opener for Accra Hearts of Oak. His goal was a combination of sheer determination, skill and strength. In search of the second goal Mawuli Wayo was unleashed. The forward has scored 4 goals from the bench this season.

Just when the Phobians were trying to exercise control over the game right back Emmanuel Amankwah was shown the red card after accumulating two yellow cards. The away side pushed for an equalizer but Hearts of Oak kept them at bay.

The win leaves Hearts of Oak 2nd on the league table. Playmaker Hussein Mohammed was adjudged the Most valuable player of the match. Up next for Hearts of Oak is defending champions Samartex 1996 on match week 17.
