Kumasi Asante Kotoko will compensate outgoing head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum with a severance package totalling $16,000 following his departure from the club.

Ogum, who rejoined the Porcupine Warriors in July 2023, has endured a difficult second half of the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League campaign.

Despite the team’s recent struggles, he managed to lead Kotoko to the semifinals of the MTN FA Cup.

His departure was confirmed by the club after their 2-0 loss to Nations FC on Sunday at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.

The defeat extended Kotoko’s winless streak to four games, leaving them in fourth place on the league table with 47 points.

Although his tenure ended prematurely, Ogum will receive a total compensation of $16,000 from the club.

In the wake of his exit, Asante Kotoko are reportedly set to appoint Abdul Karim Zito as the new head coach.

Zito is expected to take charge when the Reds host Aduana FC in a crucial Matchday 29 clash at the Baba Yara Stadium, as the team aims to bounce back to winning form.
